SHOPIAN: In order to ensure smooth and hassle-free celebrations of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW), a meeting was convened today under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Shishir Gupta at Mini-Secretariat, here.
During the meeting, DC reviewed in detail the arrangements related to security, traffic regulation, sanitation, power & water supplies, healthcare facilities, illumination of religious places and availability of essential commodities.
DC directed the Police and MVD departments to put in place adequate security and traffic management plans including a suitable parking system so that devotees do not face any inconvenience. He asked the Municipal authorities to launch special cleanliness drives around mosques, shrines, and procession routes.
KPDCL and Jal Shakti departments were instructed to provide uninterrupted electricity, illumination at all the three religious places, Asari- sharief Pinjoora, Arhama, Jamia Masjid and drinking water supply during the days of celebration.
Health department was asked to keep medical teams and ambulances on standby, and officers were urged to work in close coordination and ensure that all required arrangements are in place well before the commencement of the celebrations.
Representatives of various religious organizations also participated in the meeting and assured their cooperation with the administration for the successful conduct of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW).
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Zakir Hussain Faaz; Tehsildars, district officers, Ex. Engineers, and other concerned were present.
