SHOPIAN: The District Magistrate (DM) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya today convened a meeting at Mini Secretariat here regarding the Covid situation in the district.
Speaking on the occasion, the DM exhorted upon the officers present in the meeting to activate men and machinery in their respective areas to complete the left out vaccination process in the district and speed up their daily activities for ensuring 100 percent vaccination in the 18-44 age group population of the district.
He said that 100 percent vaccination of the 45 plus age group has been completed while currently the focus is on the vaccination of the 18-44 years age group and the need of the hour is to substantially increase the vaccination coverage to achieve the target of 100 percent within the earliest possible time.
The DM directed for intensifying efforts to achieve a cent-percent target at the earliest, besides timely administration of the vaccination.
He appealed to the youngsters to come forward and get vaccinated at designated locations as early as possible to save precious lives.
The DM said that Covid Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) and SOPs are vital to prevent any spike in infections and cautioned against any complacency on part of the stakeholders so that the virus is kept at bay and its spread is curtailed further.
The meeting among others was attended by Chief Medical Officer, Shopian, Arshad Hussain Tak, Dy.CMO, Tehsildars, BMOs, DIO, BDOs and other concerned officers.
