DLSA Srinagar observes ‘International Women’s Day’

SRINAGAR: In a series of events organized by District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Srinagar to commemorate International Women’s Day, the Chairman DLSA Srinagar, Jawad Ahmad today inaugurated a Room exclusively for females at Ahata-e-Waqar, a recreational centre for Senior Citizens at Chanapora.

Further, a programme was organized by the Senior Citizens of Ahata-e-Waqar on the eve of International Women’s Day, wherein various speakers spoke on the occasion.

Jawad Ahmad, Chairman DLSA Srinagar congratulated the Senior Citizens for their active participation in the activities and urged them to continue it for all the times to come. 

Later, DLSA Srinagar in collaboration with an NGO White Globe, celebrated Women’s Day at Degree College Bemina, wherein various speakers spoke on the occasion, which was followed by an award ceremony for facilitating the women.

Subsequently, a walkathon was held on Bemina Road by the male students for females acknowledging the role of females on this day, which was followed by a street play performed by Drama Club of Students of Kashmir University.

The programme ended with a speech delivered by Fozia Paul, Secretary DLSA Srinagar, wherein she urged the people to appreciate the role of women and also urged all the females to support and uplift each other.
