DLSA Bandipora organises awareness programme on Juvenile Justice

BANDIPORA: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Bandipora today organized a legal awareness programme on Juvenile Justice (Care & Protection of Children) Act, 2015 in collaboration with Integrated Child Protection Services (ICPS) Bandipora at Conference Hall of District Child Protection Unit Bandipora.

The programme was organised under the guidance of Chairman District Legal Services Authority (Pr. District & Sessions Judge) Bandipora and the supervision of Secretary DLSA Bandipora along with District Child Protection Officer Bandipora. 

The programme was attended by Officers /Members of Juvenile Justice Board, Members of Child Welfare Committee, Officials of District Child Protection Unit Bandipora, Supervisors of ICDS Bandipora, Officials and Para Legal volunteers of DLSA Bandipora. 

Juveniles along with their parents/guardians and different speakers appointed by DLSA Bandipora thoroughly discussed the Juvenile Justice (Care & Protection) Act, 2015. 

During the session speakers highlighted the role of special Police units with child in conflict with law and deliberated upon main objectives of the juvenile Justice (Care & Protection) Act, 2015 which aims to focus and change the law related to juvenile i.e., children who are in conflict with law and  children in need of care and protection by fulfilling their basic necessities through proper care and nourishment of child friendly atmosphere at Juvenile Justice Boards  and defined the role of Child Welfare Committees, District Child Protection Units, Juvenile Justice Boards and other stakeholders.

The speakers also highlighted the role of the District legal Services Authority in providing legal aid to the juveniles.
