DC felicitates officers and frontline workers for achievements in Aspirational Block Programme
PULWAMA: District administration Pulwama organised a felicitation ceremony titled ‘Sampoornata Abhiyan Samman Samaroh’ today at Circuit House Pulwama to felicitate district and block level officers, along with frontline workers, for their exceptional contribution in achieving saturation of key indicators under the Aspirational Block Programme in block Ichgoze.
The event commenced with a virtual message from the CEO, NITI Aayog, who highlighted the significance of the Aspirational Blocks Programme and lauded the dedicated efforts of grassroots field functionaries in addressing developmental gaps and saturating key indicators.
Subsequently, Chief Planning Officer Pulwama delivered a detailed presentation highlighting the developmental profile of Ichgoze block and departmental interventions that led to progress in health, nutrition and agriculture sectors.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Dr. Basharat Qayoom, later felicitated the officers and frontline workers and appreciated their coordinated efforts.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Qayoom said that Ichgoze block was identified as an Aspirational Block due to its developmental lag in critical areas. The purpose of this mission was to convert challenges into opportunities through focused and data-driven interventions aimed at inclusive growth of the block.
“The results achieved are commendable, but the journey shall continue,” he said while appreciating the 2nd rank secured by the block Ichgoze at the national level in the Quarterly Delta Rankings, announced in March 2025, under the Aspirational Blocks Programme of NITI Aayog.
Dr. Qayoom further emphasised the importance of sustained efforts, saying, “While we have made substantial progress, our work is far from over. Officers and frontline workers must continue to work in close coordination as a team, bridge remaining service delivery gaps, and strive to ensure that the aspirational block of today becomes a model block of tomorrow.”
The event was attended by various district and sectoral officers and local citizens of Ichgoze block.
