POONCH: A job fair was held by the District Employment & Counselling Centre Poonch to provide employment opportunities for unemployed youth in the private sector in the district today. Around 300 youth participated in the event.
Employment Officer Rayees Iqbal encouraged youth and employers to register on the employment portal www.jakemp.nic.in, integrated with the National Career Service (NCS) portal.
Deputy Director Employment Mohd Rafiq stated that such job fairs will be held regularly in the district.
Employers from different sectors participated, including Vishal Mega Mart Poonch, SBI Life, Red Tape Poonch, Mahindra Himalaya and Tata Motors. 95 youth were shortlisted for jobs and 18 were placed on the spot. Company representatives also addressed the youth about industry requirements and job skills.
