Director SHD inspects departmental activities in Doda, Kishtwar Districts

JAMMU: Director, Sheep Husbandry Department, Jammu,  Krishan Lal conducted an extensive tour of Doda and Kishtwar Districts and conducted field inspections and interactive sessions with the field functionaries of the Districts.

During the two day long tour/visit he took a detailed review of different activities being done for the welfare of the farming community of both the Districts.

He inspected Veterinary Assistant Surgeon Office Assar, District Sheep Husbandry Office Doda, District Sheep Husbandry Office Kishtwar, Govt. Sheep Breeding Farm Thathri, Assistant Project Office Intensive Sheep Development Migratory Project Bhaderwah and also inspected livestock at Sarthal. He also inspected departmental land at Karmail Assar.

During the inspection he took stock of the working of the offices and reviewed its functioning and asked the officers/officials to work for the welfare of the Sheep rearing community of the area.

Further, the Director said that the department has a major role in development of the small ruminants sector to upgrade the socio-economic status of rural masses of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and asked the officers to inform the people about employment generating schemes launched by the Sheep Husbandry Department. He also directed to conduct regular meetings with the breeders of the areas for betterment of the community and exhorted upon the concerned functionaries for making earnest efforts to develop these sectors for growth of the economic profile of the farmers.

Director Sheep Husbandry Department Jammu also held meetings with Ashok Kumar Sharma, District Development Commissioner Kishtwar and Vikas Sharma, District Development Commissioner Doda regarding certain issues of the Department.

During the two day visit/tour, he was accompanied by Dr. Javeed Iqbal Mir, APO Bhaderwah-Hiranagar, Dr. Jaffer Arfat Qazi, DSHO Kishtwar, Dr. Jameel Nasir Vachkoo, DSHO Doda, Dr. Rai Barinder Singh, Deputy Director Sheep Breeding Farm, Billawar and other officers/officials of the department.
