Director, RDD Kashmir reviews status of flagship rural development schemes in Kashmir Division

SRINAGAR: Director, Rural Development (RDD) Kashmir, Tariq Ahmad Zargar Friday chaired a meeting through Video Conferencing to review the implementation progress of RDD schemes in Kashmir Division.

ACDs, ACPs and DPOs besides Executive Engineers (REW) and other officers were present in the meeting.

Status of flagship programmes including MGNREGA, PMAY-G and 14th FCA besides progress of works under the Capex Budget 2021-22 (CD &Pyt Sector), construction, renovation of Panchayat Ghars under RGSA and other issues were reviewed in detail.

Director, RDD Kashmir appreciated the Officers for achieving and sustaining 100% target in respect of persondays generated under MGNREGA in the Division. Against the target of 92.39 Lakh persondays set for ending December 2021, 98.77 Lakh (107%) persondays have already been generated till date across 10 districts of Kashmir Division. Moreover, 95% MGNREGA Wages are being released in time among the MGNREGA Job Card Holders and till date Rs 215.58 Crore have been paid as wage component besides 100% geo-tagging of assets 99% Aadhaar Seeding of Job Card Holders is complete.

Under MGNREGA, an expenditure of Rs 286.48 Crore has been incurred till date with Rs 215.58 Crore incurred on the wage component in Kashmir Division.

Moreover, 90% target has been achieved under PMAY-G in Kashmir Division. Against the target of 7860 housing units, 7075 units have been completed till date.

Similarly, out of the 86 Panchayat Ghars taken up for construction under RGSA, 22 have been completed and the remaining are at various stages of completion. Moreover, out of the 100 Panchayat Ghars taken up under renovation, 47 have been completed.

Furthermore, out of the 1048 works taken up under CD &Pyt Sector, 214 have been completed and other works are at various stages of completion.

Director, RDD Kashmir directed the officers to accelerate the pace of execution of the works so that set targets of development for the FY 2021-22 are achieved in full. He also underscored the need to hold regular Gram sabhas in each Panchayat besides general public made aware about the guidelines and benefits of the RDD Schemes under implementation.
