Director Agriculture Kashmir Inspects Seed Multiplication Departmental Farms

SRINAGAR: Director Agriculture Kashmir, Sartaj Ahmad Shah, today conducted an inspection visit to Seed multiplication farm, Allowpora and Padgamporo to review ongoing agricultural activities and assess the status of seed production.

During the visit, the Director Agriculture Kashmir inspected various sections of the farms, including sown areas, and interacted with farm managers, technical staff, and field workers. He took stock of the progress in seed multiplication initiatives aimed at ensuring high-quality seed availability for farmers across the region.

Emphasizing the critical role of these departmental farms in achieving self-reliance in seed requirements,

the Director directed the farm manager and the official staff to provide special attention and care to the sown seeds and instructed the staff to remain extra vigilant against pest and disease incidence and to adopt all recommended preventive and corrective measures in a timely manner to maximize output and ensure a bountiful harvest.

The visit was aimed at reinforcing effective seed multiplication programmes and ensuring the availability of high-quality seeds for farmers of the region, thereby contributing to sustainable agricultural development in Kashmir.
