SRINAGAR: A group of 45 progressive farmers from different zones of Srinagar district was today flagged-off by Director Agriculture Kashmir, Sartaj Ahmad Shah for an exposure visit to Faculty of Agriculture Wadura Sopore campus (SKUAST-K).
The exposure visit has been organised by Agriculture Production & Farmers Welfare department district Srinagar under HADP project -11 (promotion of oil seed).
While interacting with the farmers on the occasion, Director Agriculture said that such programs are being organised by the department to keep farmers abreast with the latest cultural practices and technologies for commercial farming.
Shah said learning real time trends in farming and cultivation of different agriculture crops on scientific lines, help farmers do better during their farming activities. He said, skilled human resource, and capacities building of farmers are among the department’s priorities.
He impressed the progressive farmers to interact with the agriculture scientists, experts, and extension functionaries to get themselves acquainted with up-to-date methodologies in crop cultivation on scientific lines. He asked the farmers to enhance their technical skills in the field of crop farming and to adopt the advanced technologies after learning from such exposure visits.
Director Agriculture said the farmers would witness field demonstrations, farm management and practical demonstration sessions during the visit.
