DGP condoles demise of IGP (Retd.) Mohd. Shafi Wani; visits the bereaved family

SRINAGAR: Director General of Police, J&K Shri Dilbag Singh and other cadres of Jammu and Kashmir Police have condoled the death of Shri Mohammad Shafi Wani IPS IGP (Retd.). Shri Wani expired at Sudan Heart Care Centre, Karanbagh Satwari, Jammu today morning.

In his condolence message, the DGP has said that the departed officer was known in the department for his qualities of head and heart. He said that his services will be long remembered in the department. The DGP has expressed his sympathies with the bereaved family. Shri Mohammad Shafi Wani retired from Jammu and Kashmir Police in 2002. His last posting in the Department was IGP Traffic, J&K. The officer has remained posted in different capacities in the State including DIG Vigilance, DIG CID Kashmir, IGP Human Rights, IGP Security and IGP Traffic.

DGP J&K Shri Dilbag Singh accompanied by IGP Kashmir Shri S.P. Pani and DIG CKR Shri V.K. Birdhi visited the bereaved family and conveyed the heartfelt condolences on behalf of the Jammu and Kashmir Police Pariwar.
