Only one patient active in Ganderbal as eight more discharged after recovery

GANDERBAL: Ganderbal district in central Kashmir is left with just one positive case of COVID-19 as eight more patients have recovered and discharged from the hospital.

Eight more patients, who had tested positive for COVID-19 in Ganderbal, were discharged after successful treatment from the District Hospital on Friday, officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO)

“The patients were all given a warm send-off by district officials and hospital staff with a round of applause. All of them, however, have been asked to remain in home quarantine for another 14 days as a precautionary measure,” they said

Dr. Yasmeena who is Nodal Officer for Coronavirus at Hospital said that 8 more patients were discharged from the hospital after their recovery from COVID-19 infection.

Chief Medical Officer Ganderbal, Dr. Mehraj Ahmed said that the district is left with only one active case of COVID19 now. He urged people to follow the advisories and maintain social distancing besides that people with any travel history must disclose it with the health officials.

Ganderbal district had reported a total of 14 COVID-19 patients out of which five patients have been discharged from hospital already after recovering and testing negative for the infection.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal hailed the medical staff for their persistent and unfencing effort in combating the epidemic and hoped that a only COVID-19 positive patient in the district now will recover soon and will be send back to their homes early.

He also said that health checkup of all the patients will be done by the surveillance teams regularly during home quarantine to ensure proper procedure is followed.
