DDC Shopian takes stock of public issues, grievances

SHOPIAN: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya today chaired the weekly Block Diwas at Block Shopian of the district to take first-hand appraisal of public issues and grievances at their door steps.

Concerned PRIs besides a large number of people from the adjoining areas participated in the Block Diwas programme and raised various issues including, irrigation, scarcity of water, uninterrupted Power supply, replacement of damaged electric poles, road connectivity, play fields, horticulture and completion of all ongoing works.

Vaishya listened to the public patiently and assured them that their genuine demands would be looked into and redressed within the shortest possible time. He assured that all issues within his competence will be redressed as early as possible whereas the other all genuine demands will be taken up at appropriate forums for their resolution.

The DDC directed the officers to work in close coordination so that equitable development of all panchayats is ensured in the district. He further said that the main objective of the programme is to mitigate the problems and grievances of the people.

He also directed the officers and officials of all departments to remain available for the public at all times to mitigate the issues of public priority.

       Vaishya said that work on several major work projects is going on at full pace in the district and work on several work projects stands already completed.

The programme was attended by DDC, Vice-Chairperson, Tehsildar Shopian, BDO Keller, Ex. Er. PDD, AD Planning and other officers.

Later, the DDC visited and inspected High School and Health Centre and also took stock of the pace of ongoing developmental works and exhorted upon the concerned executing agencies for speeding up the work on these developmental projects at an earliest to facilitate the people of the area.
