DDC reviews implementation of JJM in Kishtwar District

KISHTWAR: District Development Commissioner Kishtwar Dr. Devansh Yadav (IAS), who is also the Chairman of District Jal Jeevan Mission, today chaired a meeting of the concerned officers to review the progress of the works taken under Jal Jeevan Mission in the district.

The meeting was attended by SDM Chatroo Inderjeet Singh Parihar, DSWO Zubair Ahmed, EXEN Jal Shakti Sunil Sharma, EXEN RnB Ravinder Kumar, EXEN Mechanical Division Kuldeep Kumar, CAO Amjad Hussain Malik, Dy CEO Tirath Lal, AEEs, AEs, JEs of concerned department besides representatives of forest Department.

At the outset, the meeting was informed that out of 129 Water Supply Schemes tendered out so far, 63 projects have  got response and work on 35 works have been started on the ground.

The DDC directed the concerned officials to expedite the tendering and evaluation processes, besides allotment of works within the fixed deadlines. He also impressed upon the officers to maintain the highest level of transparency and accountability in the implementation process and meet the timelines targeted for completion of various tasks

He enquired about the bottlenecks being faced by the executing agencies and asked the indenting department to resolve the same for smooth execution of  WSSs for the benefit of people at large .

Besides, Jal Shakti and the Forest Department were asked to work in coordinated and collaborative manner to expedite the forest clearance issues of the tendered works within a week of time.

DDC also stressed upon the EXEN Jal Shakti to plug  the leakages of water pipeline , besides rationalise the water distribution supply in the town and its adjoining areas promptly.

Various issues like restoration and distribution of water supply in different areas of the district including snow bound areas were also discussed in the meeting and necessary directions were given to the concerned officers and officials in this regard.

Relief and Rehabilitation plan under water uplift Schemes in the town of Kishtwar was also discussed in the meeting wherein various deliberations were made.

The DDC Kishtwar took status of water testing labs wherein it was informed that out of targeted 18000 tested, 6800 tests have been conducted so far. He  stressed to intensify the testing across the district to ensure the proper surveillance and management of water bodies.
