DDC reviews implementation of JJM at Kulgam

KULGAM: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat today chaired a meeting of officers to review the progress made under Jal Jeevan Mission to provide functional household tap connection (FHTC) to every household in the district.  

During the meeting, the chair was informed that out of the total 60289 households, 26533 stands already covered by March 2021 and 17197 are planned to be provided by FHTC during the current financial year.

The chair was also  informed that out of 121 projects under JJM in District Kulgam, 26 projects up to Rs. 1.00 Crore stands already tendered.  

However, as per the directives the rest of the DPR’s under JJM whether below 1.00 Crore or above 1.00 Crore are to be revised as per the new guidelines in a week’s time.

It was also given out that 280 Pani Samits have been constituted across the district covering all the villages for effective monitoring of the project implementation under JJM. 

The DDC impressed upon the department of JJM for effective implementation of the scheme and directed that coordinated efforts must be put in place to achieve the target of providing every rural household with functional household tap connection by 2022.

The chair also discussed the proposals for Rain Water Harvesting, Ground Water Recharge and Grey Water Management for reuse of waste water under JJM.

The DDC stressed for timely uploading of Village Action Plan on JJM portal and the directions were passed for expediting the pace of revising the DPR’s in 10 days’ time so that the tendering and allotment of works under JJM be completed in a time bound manner.

The meeting was attended by SE Hydraulic, CMO, CEO, CPO, Ex. Er PHE and other officers.
