REASI: A District level meeting cum training under National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP) for District level heads of Government Departments, civil society, Media and other Stakeholders Under National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP) was today convened by District Health Society Reasi in collaboration with International Union against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease to review the tobacco control measures in the district.
Deputy Commissioner Indu Kanwal Chib chaired the meeting, which was attended by Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma; Additional SP, Surjeet Kumar Bhagat; Principal Government Degree College Reasi; Assistant Regional Transport Officer; Chief Education Officer, Medical Superintendent, District Hospital Reasi, DY CMO, BMOs, Dy.SP Hq , Tehsildar, SHOs, ZEOs , ZEPOs , all RBSK and School Health Nodal officers,, besides BDC Chairman Reasi.
A brief presentation about Roles and responsibilities of designated committee members on Tobacco Control was given by Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma.
State Programme coordinator NTCP, Dr. Mohd Naser, gave a detailed presentation on NTPC & implementation of Cigarettes and other Tobacco products Act-2003 (COTPA).
It was emphasized upon all the participants to help the administration in enforcing the NTCP & COTPA -2003.
