DDC Rajouri reviews restoration of Water Supply Schemes

Stresses timely completion of existing schemes, focus on most rain affected areas

RAJOURI: District Development Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma today chaired a comprehensive review meeting here at Dak Bungalow to assess the restoration of water supply Schemes.

During the meeting, the DDC emphasized the need to set up public stand posts in worst affected areas to ensure uninterrupted drinking water supply to the public. He also reviewed the water supply issues caused by power disruptions and directed the concerned officers to submit a list of affected areas to the Executive Engineer, PDD, for ensuring scheduled pumping operations.

Furthermore, the DDC conducted a scheme-wise review of all ongoing projects under JJM. He directed the ADC Kalakote to conduct an enquiry into the Jigni scheme and sort out issues delaying the allotment at Bhawani A Panchayat. He noted that pump rooms for nine schemes are still pending and instructed the officers to expedite their completion.

In addition, the DC directed all ADCs and SDMs to personally inspect the progress of JJM works in their respective jurisdictions at least once every fortnight to expedite the execution. He further emphasized resolving minor issues hindering the schemes nearing completion. He further directed to get all completed schemes certified by Gram Sabhas.
