DDC, MD JJM jointly review Jal Jeevan Mission at Shopian

21 schemes completed, 32 on verge of completion

SHOPIAN: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian, Shishir Gupta and Mission Director (MD) Jal Jeevan Mission J&K, Khursheed Ahmad Shah today held joint review meeting of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) schemes & works at Mini Secretariat Shopian.

A detailed presentation was made by the Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti Shopian regarding the status of implementation of the mission in the district. He informed that 62 schemes at an estimated cost of Rs 243.47 crores have been planned to cover all its 0.45 lakh rural households with Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTCs) by building adequate infrastructure in the shape of 03 bore-wells, 34 Rapid sand Filtration Plants, 03 Over Head Tanks and 110 Pipe Networks.

It was further informed that 21 schemes involving 60 works have been completed till date covering 28 villages, 32 schemes are at an advanced level of completion ( above 75,%) and the rest 09 are under execution with more than 50% work performance.

Har Ghar Jal reporting and certification issues of FHTCs, availability of pipes, water testing performance of District Lab Shopian and sub division Lab Zainapora especially schools and AWCs, FTK training of women, geo-tagging of scheme assets, uploading on Dashboard JJM 2.0 and Gati Shakti Portal was also reviewed.

The meeting discussed the timelines for completion of the schemes and instructions were issued for focusing on the immediate completion of remaining schemes.

Importance was laid on prioritising the completion of Rapid Sand Filtration Plants (RSFPs) so that quality water as per the JJM specifications is provided to the households.

DDC reiterated the significance of Har Ghar Jal slogan and asked the field functionaries to improve performance so that the approved quantity and quality of water supply is provided to the populace.

Mission Director JJM impressed upon all the officers of Jal Shakti Department to work with utmost dedication and sincerity and provide FHTCs to the remaining 7251 households.

The meeting was also attended by ADDC, Dr. Nasir Ahmad Lone; Chief Engineer, Jal Shakti, M Taj Choudhary; Ex. Engineer, DIO, Shopian, AEEs, JEs and other officials.

Earlier, Mission Director prior to the meeting took an extensive tour of the district and inspected the Water supply schemes Mughalpora Panjal, Batmaran Wanpora, Keegam Sheerpathri and Transit accommodation.
