Stresses for conducting awareness programmes about government schemes

KUPWARA: A meeting of District Level Review cum Consultative Committee (DLRCC) of district Kupwara was convened today under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Imam Din.

On the occasion, the DDC directed the banks for earlier disposal of all cases on priority basis. He directed officers of line departments to sponsor cases properly and submit the cases to respective branches as per service area on a weekly basis. 

 The DDC further directed the banks and the sponsoring agencies to work with cooperation, coordination and cohesion to achieve the goals and targets of development and progress, besides focus on generation of employment for unemployed youth of the district. He also directed all departments and banks to conduct awareness programmes at village/block levels to generate proper awareness about the schemes among the people. 

Highlighting the overall performance for 4th quarter under Annual District Credit Plan, Lead District Manager, Kupwara, Shamim Ahmad Haji informed the meeting that under District Credit Plan 2020-21, District has recorded an achievement of Rs 1340.53 Crores as on 31-03-2021 which constitutes 97 percent against target of Rs 1382.26 Crores.

He said that the achievements under priority sector advances were to the tune of Rs 847.30 Crores against the target of Rs 1182.87 crores for 4th quarter 2020-21 which constitutes 69 percent while as under non-priority sector, the achievements are to the tune of Rs 493.23 Crores against target of Rs 199.39 Crores which constitutes 196 percent.

He further informed that deposits of the banks in the District were to the tune of Rs 2980 Crores as on 31-03-2021 compared to Rs 2696 Crores as on 31-03-2020 thereby registering an increase of Rs 284 Crores constituting 9 percent. The advances of the banks stood at Rs 3087 Crores as on 31-03-2021 against Rs 2512 Crores as on 31-12-2019 thereby registering an increase of Rs 566 Crores which works out to 18 percent. The CD ratio of the District as on 31-12-2020 stood at 103, he added. 

Rs 518.72 crore have been disbursed by the banks amongst 29569 beneficiaries under PM Mudra Yojana Scheme with J&K Bank being the main contributor with 85 percent credit disbursement.

It was also informed in the meeting that the district has already sanctioned 2937 cases under various govt sponsored schemes and disbursed 82.15 Crore. Under the new KCC scheme for Animal Husbandry, Sheep & Fisheries, the banks have sanctioned 10921 cases and have disbursed Rs 57.52 Crores to the beneficiaries. 

Officers of line departments and representatives from various banks of the district attended the meeting.
