DC Kishtwar presides over weekly Block Diwas at Mughal Maidan

KISHTWAR: To redress the grievances of the people at their doorsteps, Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar Ashok Sharma, today presided over the  weekly block Diwas programme, here at TRC Mughal Maidan.

SDM Chatroo, Inderjeet Singh Parihar; ACD Kishtwar Kishore Singh Katoch, BDC Chairperson, Mughal Maidan, Sharifa  Begum; BDO Mughal Maidan, Arun Badyal, ALC  Kishtwar, Anoop Kumar; Tehsildar Mughal Maidan, Nayeem Iqbal Sheikh; DSWO Tariq Parveaz Qazi; Chief Horticulture officer Mushtaq Ahmed Wani; District Sheep Husbandry officer, Farhad Bashir, besides other district officers and PRI members were present on the occasion.

Various delegations led by the sarpanches and panchs apprised the DC about their demands and grievances which include road connectivity to unconnected areas, augmentation of power supply lines with electric poles and insulators, recruitment of locals in various power projects of Kishtwar, coverage of left out beneficiaries under Sehat Scheme, shortage of staff in banks and educational institutions, provision of water supply to various habitations, among others.

After giving patient hearing to their grievances, the DC asked the PRI members to monitor the progress of works in power sector which will soon be resumed by Shalaka Company.

He also asked the PRI members to include all habitations of up to 250 population in PMGSY road connectivity network so that no one is left out without road connectivity.

On the demand of providing employment to locals in power projects, the DC added that a Committee has been constituted for this purpose which shall ensure 80% employment to locals in these power projects.

Tehsildar Mughal Maidan , was asked to furnish list of left out beneficiaries of Sehat Health Insurance scheme in consultation  with PRIs.

He further announced that the water crisis will end as soon entire district is covered under Jal Jivan Mission.

Meanwhile, 50 passbooks of Ladli Beti Scheme were distributed among the beneficiaries on the spot, besides 12 beneficiary oriented certificates, which includes 5 RBA certificates and 7 Domicile certificates were also distributed among the beneficiaries on-spot.

The DC also inspected various stalls displaying the beneficiary oriented schemes of the departments.

He also redressed various individual issues during one to one interaction with locals.

En-route, he also reviewed the functioning of tehsil office Mughal Maidan and also interacted with the delegation of locals there.

Plantation drive was also launched by the DC in the premises of TRC.

Similar programme was held at block headquarter Drabshalla under the chairmanship of ACR Kishtwar, Dr Amir Hussain in presence of Tehsildar Arun Kumar Sharma and BDO Drabshalla Sobia Fatima Shad.
