GANDERBAL: District Administration Ganderbal Saturday evening organised a colorful Musical Thematic Evening at Manasbal, Ganderbal.
The event was presided over by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal.
Based on the theme of ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ campaign, several women-oriented performances and other cultural programmes were on the occasion presented by the prominent artists of the valley.
All the artists and singers put focus on the importance of girl education through their plays and singing.
The program witnessed overwhelming participation of the prominent persons of the district besides a huge gathering of locals from adjoining areas.
On the occasion, the DC highlighted the importance of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign and said that the girls are nowhere less than the boys who are important stakeholders of society.
He said it is our collective responsibility to groom and nurture our girl child in the same manner as is done in case of male child.
Earlier, the welcome address was given by the ICDS Program Officer, Bilqees Jan and highlighted the objective for organizing the Musical event.
Later, the DC felicitated the participants who performed in the cultural events and appreciated them for highlighting the importance of educating and securing a girl child through their performances.
Among others, the event was attended by the SSP Ganderbal, Khalil Poswal, ADC Ganderbal, Farooq Ahmed Baba, BDC Chairperson and other officers from district administration.
