DDC elections: 39 Polling Parties airlifted to Marwah for Phase-I Polling

KISHTWAR: Thirty Nine polling parties were today airlifted  for District Development Council elections and Panchayat By-Elections to Marwah, which is going to polls in the First Phase of 8 :Phase election. 

The   poll parties  left to this far flung area in the presence of District Panchayat Election Officer, Ashok Kumar Sharma.

The poll parties, along with poll material and other logistics, were inducted through choppers  from Kishtwar to the Transit camp established at Marwah from where they will move to their respective polling stations, the DPEO informed.

He further informed that security personnel and Employees involved in boarding and lodging arrangements were sent in advance.

The polling for phase- I being held in the Marwah and  Warwan would be held on November 28, even as the polling staff for Warwan will be dispatched tomorrow, he further added.

For the safe and secure conduct of elections, onspot recording of temperature and other COVID-19 symptoms of polling staff was conducted by the health  team before boarding the Chopper in Kishtwar.

Additional Deputy Commissioner, Pawan Parihar; Joint Director Planning, Mohammad Iqbal; Assistant Commissioner Development, Kishore Singh Katoch; Dy.DEO, Masood Ahmed Bichoo; ENT, Angreez Singh Jasrotia; ROs, AROs, Nodal Officers, Officers from Police and Officials of Elections Department were present on the occasion.
