DODA: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Doda, Harvinder Singh today chaired a meeting to review the implementation of Rural Sector schemes and progress of works being executed by the Rural Development Department in the district.
The meeting reviewed the status of ongoing works, physical achievements, financial expenditure and project execution under different Rural Sector schemes and grants.
The DDC took a detailed assessment of works pending physical completion under PRI grants, ongoing works pending expenditure under DDC Grants, and the status of development activities being undertaken in Aspirational Blocks and Aspirational Panchayat areas. The progress of works under PRIs Grants, BDC Grants and projects presently under the tendering stage was also discussed.
The officers presented updates on the Aspirational Block Development Programme, including the status of procurement of approved items. The DDC further evaluated the physical progress of Panchayat Ghars/Bhawans sanctioned under RGSA, the status of Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM-Gramin) works and the progress of the Common Service Centres approved under RGSA.
Other key components reviewed in the meeting included the construction of Community Composite Pits, Community Soakage Pits and the functioning and expansion of the Plastic Waste Management Unit in the district. The progress of the Gobardhan Project, aimed at clean energy generation and waste management, was also discussed.
A detailed PowerPoint presentation was delivered by district officers, highlighting bottlenecks and status of ongoing projects.
The DDC directed the department to ensure timely completion of ongoing works, especially in far-flung areas likely to be impacted by winter snowfall. He emphasized the need for better inter-departmental coordination, urging officers to prioritize public-oriented works and ensure their completion within stipulated timelines.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Doda, CPO Doda, ACD Doda, ACP Doda, XENs of RDD Doda, Block Development Officers of the district, concerned AEEs, AEs and JEs from various blocks of the district.
