DDC Doda holds public outreach program at Bhaderwah

Meets PRIs, ULB members, deputations; directs for time bound redress of public grievances   

DODA: As a part of the ongoing outreach program of the District Administration, District Development Commissioner (DDC) Doda, Vikas Sharma today conducted an extensive tour of Bhaderwah area of Doda district.

He met BDC chairpersons, District Development Council members, representatives of NGOs, social workers, Sarpanchs, civil society members, and general public.

During the course of the daylong marathon interaction, he sought feedback about the ongoing works under PHE, PWD, RDD, PDD, MC, PMGSY, tourism department etc.

Reviewing the RDD sector, the DDC directed the BDO to ensure time bound redress of grievances of the BDC Chairperson by providing all the relevant information. He was asked to avoid unnecessary delays in making financial transactions to the PMAY beneficiaries for timely completion of their houses.

The DDC also directed the BDO to expedite the estimation and execution of all the works approved under MGNREGA and 15th FC and convene monthly review meetings on first Monday under the chairmanship of BDC chairperson henceforth.

With regard to Awass plus verification, the DDC directed the BDO to publish the list of the registered beneficiaries in the newspapers and complete the verification by August 15, 2021.

For water supply to the district jail, PHE was asked to lay the pipeline on war footing and submit the estimate and DPR to the concerned authorities for the construction of a sedimentation tank in the jail.

The DDC also directed the department to conduct an extensive survey to assess the ground level situation with regard to shifting and restoration of water pipelines and frame an action plan accordingly.

The DDC directed the Tourism department to keep check on the construction being done without the proper permission and maintain cleanliness in and around the assets created by the authority.

Meanwhile, scores of deputations also projected issues of public importance and demanded shifting of water pipeline going through the drains, assets generation in the Municipality, de clogging of the drains and nallahs, transparent execution of works in all the wards of MC, replacement of wooden electric poles and wires attached with the trees immediately, payment of pending land compensation, clearing the liabilities of casual staff, restoration of all irrigation khuls, availability of staff in public institutions, parking facilities, connecting links roads in the town for de-congestion, installation of street lights, shifting of public institutions from rented buildings to vacant government buildings etc.

The DDC assured that the grievances raised shall be addressed by the concerned authorities on priority basis, besides asking the officers of line departments to maintain close liaison with elected representatives so that public issues shall be redressed with utmost importance.

DDC also handed over a handbook “Jammu and Kashmir Marching to a new tune -Towards prosperity, progress & peace” to PRIs and ULB members.

The meeting was attended by ADC Bhaderwah, DFO Bhaderwah, Tehsildar Bhaderwah, Ex En PWD, PHE, I&FC, DIO Doda, BMO Bhaderwah, BDO Bhaderwah, besides other officers/officials of various departments were also present.
