SHOPIAN: The District Development Commissioner (DDC), Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya today chaired the weekly Block Diwas cum Grievance Redressal Camp at Mini Secretariat, here.
During the programme, several deputations of DDC, including Civil Society Members, representatives of various political parties and locals highlighted various issues of public importance and sought immediate redressal of the same.
They demanded upgradation of schools, speedy execution of road widening work, providing of portable drinking water facility, electricity supply, repair of roads, playfields, lifting of garbage, manpower and other facilities in DH Shopian etc.
The DDC listened to the public patiently and assured that all the genuine grievances of the public will be redressed on priority basis. He instructed the Executive Officer, Municipal Council Shopian to review the grievances pertaining to the Council for ensuring timely disposal.
The DDC further said that all the grievances in his competence shall be taken into account on priority, and those requiring intervention of higher authorities will be forwarded to the concerned authorities for appropriate and timely resolution.
The DDC said that the District Administration is going to take harsh steps and no stone will be left unturned in demolishing the encroachments either residential or else and nobody will be allowed to make any kind of illegal construction in the district.
He sought people’s cooperation in maintaining the Town neat, clean and most beautiful and stressed for using dustbins and also avoiding throwing of polythene on roadsides.He directed Chief Education Officer, Shopian for holding of awareness camps in the schools in this behalf.
Assistant Commissioner Development, Shopian, CEO, CAHO, CAO, BMO, Shopian, BDO, Shopian and other concerned officers were present.
