DC Budgam visits remote areas of the District amid snow clearance operations

BUDGAM: Deputy Commissioner, Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza today visited remote villages of Budgam district to take stock of the post snowfall situation in these areas.

The DC was accompanied by Chief Engineer PHE, XEN  PDD, XEN R&B & XEN PHE Chadoora Division and other senior officers of the district.

DC visited Dalwan, Futlipora, Zinpanthal, Kanidajan, Char-i-Sharief and its adjacent areas to inspect the snow clearance operation and the status of delivery of essential services.

During his visit, the DC met people and interacted with them to get the feedback about the delivery of essential services to the people of these remote villages.

On the occasion, the DC passed on spot instructions to get the rest of the snow cleared on roads by midnight positively.

The DC exhorted upon all concerned Departments to put all additional manpower and machinery in place for ensuring quick delivery of essential services in adversely snow affected areas.

Meanwhile, Locals thanked DC for reaching out to them during adverse weather conditions.

‘I will personally continue to monitor all the snow clearance operations’, the DC added.

DC also lauded the efforts of the PDD in restoring about 95% electricity across the District.

He said that the restoration of electricity supply is being done on a war footing basis with continuous vigil by the field staff in their respective areas to ensure identification and simultaneous restoration of faults.
