DDC Anantnag reviews progress of RDD

ANANTNAG: The District Development Commissioner Anantnag, Dr. Piyush Singla today held a comprehensive meeting with the officers of RDD to review the developmental progress achieved in rural sector, here.

While taking the reviews, the DDC passed directions for expediting the pace of tendering and allotment of works under District Capex and Back to Village to complete those works as soon as possible.

Dr. Singla called for taking the proposals of Gram Sabhas on board for priortising works and directed the BDOs to facilitate smooth conduct of Gram Sabhas.

The DDC impressed upon the officers to ensure full inter-departmental as well as intra-departmental coordination between administrative and engineering wings so as to keep up the pace of the works.

He also stressed for timely uploading of material component in MGNREGA so that the physical and financial achievements are in sync.

Besides, directions were passed to complete the process of priortisation under PMAY in Non- SECC within the stipulated timeframe so that the most deserving ones are alloted the sanctions.

Dr. Singla also enjoined upon the BDOs to monitor and strengthen the process of registration of unemployed youth at Panchayat level for allotment of below Rs 3 lac works so that they get meaningful livelihood opportunities.

While presenting details about achievements of RDD, the ACD Nisar Ahmad said that under MGNREGA about 16 lac PDs have been generated so far. Besides, 1557 works have been accorded under District Capex while as 850 works have been authorized under BTV Programme in the sector, he added.

The ACD further informed that 99.97 percent and 99.42 percent achievements have been made in Phase I and Phase II Geotagging respectively adding 2114 houses under PMAY have been completed.

The meeting was also attended by ADDC, CPO, Exen REW, BDOs, engineers, technical assistants and other officials of the department.
