ANANTNAG: In view of the inclement weather and heavy snowfall, Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, K.K Sidha today visited various areas of the district and personally monitored the snow clearance operations , restoration of electricity and water supply, besides ensuring availability of essential commodities like ration, medicines, cooking gas etc in the whole district.
In the early morning, DC visited District Hospital Anantnag, SDHs Achabal and Kokernag and took stock of availability of medicines, power supply and heating arrangements there. He also interacted with the patients and directed the health officials to ensure quality health care facilities and heating arrangements to the patients.
Later on, he visited Dooru, Verinag, Dialgam, and other areas of the District including the main town along with snow clearing machines.
He said that snow has been cleared off the majority of the roads including those in Pahalgam, Verinag, Kapran, Larnoo, Shangus, Qazigund Etc. Moreover, water supply is fully available in the district and out of 64 11KV feeders, 37 were restored upto 11 30 am in the morning.
Besides, control rooms in District headquarter and in subdivisions are also operational to address the emergency demands of the public.
