Complete Containment of COVID-19 and effective delivery of Public Services would the top priority: DM

ANANTNAG: While stressing for complete containment of COVID-19 in the district, District Magistrate Anantnag after assuming charge urged upon all the concerned officers to fortify the efforts in breaking the chain of infection.

Deputy Commissioner while taking the preliminary review of Officers directed the police and revenue officers to ensure complete lockdown in red zones along with a mechanism to be put in place to for hassle free availability of essential supplies besides emphasizing for reasonable restrictions in green and orange zones.

He directed the officers to invoke    section 269 IPC (unlawfully or negligently doing something which is likely to spread infection of any dangerous disease to life), section 270 IPC (malignant act likely to spread infection of dangerous disease to life), section 271 IPC (knowingly disobeying any quarantine rule) and section 188 IPC (for disobeying the Government orders) in case of any violation.

He said that various SOPs issued by government time and again should be followed religiously and there is no scope of being complacent amid spike in number of COVID-19 cases.

He added that the SOP pertaining to the management of pregnant ladies, terminal illnesses and non Communicable diseases should be followed along with building a mechanism without putting them into inconvenience.

He directed all the officers including CMO Anantnag, Nodal Officers of quarantine centres and Tehsildars to submit the daily work done reports to the district headquarters without any fail.

He emphasized that the surveillance teams constituted for screening and monitoring   should intensify the efforts in having door to door survey in all areas declared red zones

He also directed for expedition of enquiry regarding the death of a pregnant in the district and stressed for its logical conclusion.

While emphasising for the aggressive sampling to occur in concurrence with the SOPs, he directed the CMO to submit a proposal of paramedics who may be accordingly deputed for sampling collection training at Srinagar Hospital

He enjoined upon the officers to work in unison and strive for a  responsive and prompt disposal of public grievances. He underscored the importance of providing better public delivery of services thereby assuaging the stress of general public amid pandemic.

The meeting was attended by SP Anantnag, two Additional Deputy Commissioners, OSD for COVID, ACD Anantnag, ACR Anantnag, SDMs CMO and other concerned officers.
