KATHUA: DC XI secured a thrilling three-run victory over GDC XI in a closely fought cricket match played here today, keeping the spectators engaged till the final over.

Batting first, DC XI posted 120 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. Arun led the scoring with a steady 22 runs, while Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rajesh Sharma remained unbeaten on 17 runs, anchoring the innings in the closing stages. Sahil also remained not out with 7 runs. For GDC XI, Arvind delivered an impressive bowling performance, claiming four wickets, supported by Gotam Singh and Shujad with two wickets each.

Chasing the target, GDC XI mounted a spirited challenge and reached 117 runs for 7 wickets in the allotted overs. Abid’s unbeaten 31 and Zahid’s 24 runs kept the contest alive till the final moments. DC XI bowlers maintained discipline under pressure, with Amit Sharma picking up three crucial wickets and Ranjeet Thakur taking two wickets, while Rajesh Sharma also claimed a wicket.
