DC Udhampur reviews implementation of financial inclusion and social security schemes

UDHAMPUR: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai, today convened a meeting of officers from line departments to review the progress of the financial inclusion and social security schemes including PMJDY, PMJJBY, PMSBY, APY, PM-SYM, J&K Building and other construction workers welfare board schemes, Old age/widow/disability pensions under NSAP and ISSS and the State Marriage Assistance Scheme.

The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Jugal Kishore, PO Poshan, Subash Dogra, GM DIC, Kishore Singh Katoch, Assistant Commissioner Development, Om Parkash and other district officers.

During the meeting, the DC took a comprehensive review of the registration status and coverage achieved under the financial inclusion and social security schemes in the district. She emphasized the importance of ensuring that all eligible beneficiaries are covered under these schemes to provide them with the necessary financial protection and social support.

The DC directed the concerned departments to intensify awareness and registration drives, ensuring that more eligible citizens are enrolled under these welfare schemes. She also instructed the concerned officers to sensitize the public to enroll under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, aiming for 100 percent saturation.

Highlighting the significance of these initiatives, the DC stressed that the timely and effective implementation of social security schemes is essential for inclusive growth and financial empowerment of citizens across the district. ACD was directed to organize gram Sabhas in the district.
