DC Srinagar holds Public Grievance Redressal Camp at Lasjan

SRINAGAR: In connection with ongoing Good Governance Week, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad Wednesday heldĀ  a Public Grievance Redressal Camp on the eve of Block Diwas at Lasjan in an endeavour to bring Administration to the door steps of the people particularly living in distant areas of the district for on spot resolution of public issues.

During the Grievance Redressal Camp, local PRI representatives, public delegations and individuals projected various issues and demands before the Deputy Commissioner.

The demands and issues flagged-off include augmentation of Water supply and drainage system, providing electric transformer issuance of Revenue Extracts, pending payment under MGNREGA, upgradation of High School Lasjan, development of playground, ugradation of sports infrastructure and expediting of work on pump station, besides sanctioning of cases under different Social Welfare schemes.

On the occasion, the DC after giving patient hearing to the grievances and demands of the public, sought on the spot response from the concerned District Officers present during the Grievance Redressal Camp.

He also assured the people of Lasjan, Soiteng and other adjoining areas that all genuine demands and issues projected by them will be taken up with concerned authorities on priority. The DC also gave on the spot direction to the concerned officers for time bound redressal of the public issues.

Addressing the gathering, the DC said the purpose of holding such grievance redressal camps is to take appraisal of local issues from the general public for precise and onground assessment for their time bound redressal.

The DC said that a comprehensive solid waste management project  has been developed for mitigating the issues of solid waste and in this regard the District Administration is providing a Solid Waste Collection Van to the Lasjan Block for collection and its disposal on scientific method.

Underscoring the importance of Panchayat Raj Institutions, the DC said that by strengthening the Panchayat Raj institutions people have been empowered to prepare all developmental plans of their local areas and monitor their implementation and execution on ground.

Later, the DC inspected various developmental works being carried out in the area and directed the concerned executing agencies to speed up the pace of works to complete them in set timelines.

Besides, local members of Panchayat Raj Institutions, Chief Planning Officer Srinagar, District Programme Officer, ICDS, Assistant Commissioner Development, Chief Horticulture Officer, District Panchayat Officer, Block Development Officer, District Social Welfare, Assistant Commissioner Labour and other District Officers and Engineers were also present on the occasion.
