Emphasizes strengthening of Urban Local Bodies

SAMBA: District Development Commissioner Samba Ayushi Sudan today chaired a meeting to review the progress of Vibrant Village Programme-II in the District.

The DC took a detailed review and directed the designated village Nodal Officers to conduct regular visits to their allotted village to oversee implementation of initiatives taken to bridge developmental gaps.  

The programme, she said, envisages 100% saturation of social security schemes, assured safe drinking water supply to all households, screening of Non-communicable Diseases, women and child related diseases including concrete TB Mukt Bharat Programme to improve quality of life of rural population.  

Stress was also laid on creation of additional infrastructure and support services such as setting up of Model Anganwadis and new Panchayat Bhawans where ever required, in the selected vibrant villages.

To enhance livelihood, she stressed on effective implementation of the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme with special focus on high density plantation, dragon fruit/strawberry and Mission Yuva initiatives.

The chair emphasized upon the convergence of the government schemes to meet out the demands identified in the selected villages during VVP.

Meanwhile, the DDC also took a comprehensive review of the functioning of Urban Local Bodies of the district. Directions were issued to the heads of ULBs to complete all PMAY-U Phase-I houses in one month .

The DDC directed the Civic Bodies to organise mass awareness camps to benefit the maximum number of eligible households under PMAYU 2.0 and PM-Savanidhi Scheme. Status of building permissions and outsourcing of manpower for cleanliness of urban areas was also reviewed by the chair.

The meeting was attended by CPO, ACR, SDMs of Ghagwal and Vijaypur, Nodal Officers of Vibrant Villages, concerned stakeholders and Heads of Urban Local Bodies.
