DC Samba inspects pace of restoration work in rain-affected areas

SAMBA: Deputy Commissioner Samba Ayushi Sudan today visited Block Nud and damaged stretch of Samba–Mansar Road to take stock of the ground situation post heavy rains. The DC inspected the damaged road stretches and directed the concerned departments to expedite reconstruction and timely completion to restore the vehicular traffic for public convenience.

She also visited nearby habitations where several residential properties were damaged due to rains. The DC interacted with the affected families, listened to their grievances and assured them of full administrative support, timely relief and compensation as per norms.

Later, Ms. Sudan visited a temporary relief camp, where rain/flood-affected families have been provided shelter. She directed the Health Department to organize medical camps for the affected population and instructed concerned officers to ensure uninterrupted supply of essential items and facilities. The DC also heard the demands of the displaced families and assured them of comprehensive assistance from the district administration.

During the visit, ACR Samba Ajay Bharti, XEN PWD, Tehsildar Samba and other concerned officers accompanied the DC.
