DC Samba inaugurates Adarsh Abhiyan Gaon Girls Basketball Tournament

SAMBA: The District Youth Services and Sports Office Samba, under the guidance of Director General Anuradha Gupta, today commenced the Inter-District UT Level Girls Basketball Tournament under Adarsh Abhiyan Gaon (AAG) at Government High School Jatwal. The event was meticulously organized under the supervision of District Youth Services and Sports Officer Dharmvir Singh.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by Deputy Commissioner Ayushi Sudan, who presided over the function as Chief Guest. Chief Education Officer Kewal Krishan attended as Guest of Honour, along with other government officials.

The participants took a solemn pledge to actively engage in sports activities and remain committed to abstaining from drugs, reinforcing the message of healthy living among youth.

The tournament provides an exceptional platform for emerging athletes to showcase their talent. This initiative is designed not only to promote physical fitness among young girls but also to instill essential values of teamwork, discipline and resilience. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 60 girl players representing seven different districts of Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory, demonstrating the growing interest in sports among young women across the region.

The District Youth Services and Sports Office extended its heartfelt appreciation to all participants for their remarkable dedication and exemplary sportsmanship, truly emboding the spirit of competitive sports and the objectives of this tournament.
