SAMBA: Deputy Commissioner Samba Rajesh Sharma today flagged off a group of 29 Hajj pilgrims on their sacred journey to the holy land of Mecca. The flag-off ceremony took place at the DC Office Complex, Samba, in a spiritually uplifting atmosphere filled with prayers and well-wishes.
The event was organized by the District Social Welfare Office, which has been actively facilitating the arrangements and guidance for the pilgrims. The pilgrims will depart from Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi, on May 4, 2025, bound for Jeddah.
Interacting with the pilgrims, DC Rajesh Sharma extended his heartfelt wishes for a safe, smooth, and spiritually fulfilling pilgrimage. He emphasized the significance of Hajj as a journey of faith, devotion, and unity, and lauded the efforts of the Social Welfare Department for ensuring seamless coordination.
The Deputy Commissioner urged the pilgrims to pray for peace, prosperity, and communal harmony in the region and across the nation. He also assured that all necessary administrative support has been provided to ensure a hassle-free journey for the pilgrims.
The event was attended by officials from the District Administration, Social Welfare Department and family members of the pilgrims.
