DC reviews implementation of HADP in Kathua District

KATHUA: Deputy Commissioner Kathua Dr. Rakesh Minhas, today chaired the meeting of District Level Committee on the Holistic Agriculture Development Program (HADP) here in the Conference Hall of the DC office complex.

Dr. Minhas reviewed the progress made in implementing various components of HADP projects by the Agriculture and allied departments.

The committee also held detailed deliberations on selection of beneficiaries for different components of stakeholder departments.

After thorough scrutiny, 1590 applications were approved, including 126   for Sheep Husbandry schemes, 19 for Horticulture, 44 for Animal Husbandry schemes, 18 for Sericulture schemes, and 1383 for Agricultural schemes.

Highlighting the significance of the HADP initiative, Dr. Minhas stated that it would play a crucial role in fostering a sustainable and profitable agricultural ecosystem. “The program aims to equip farmers with the necessary knowledge and tools to enhance productivity and profitability while contributing to the overall growth of the agriculture sector,” he added.

Dr. Minhas urged stakeholder departments to work closely for the successful implementation of various initiatives at the district level. He also emphasized the importance of reaching out to farmers in remote areas, providing them with information on the latest agricultural technologies, and ensuring the effective execution of different schemes at the grassroots level.

The meeting was attended by various officials including CPO, ACD, CAO, CHO, CSHO, CAHO, DDM NABARD, AD Fisheries, Dy Registrar Cooperatives, and other concerned officers.
