Directs departments to redress public grievances, expedite project completion
RAMBAN: Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan today directed the executing agencies and stakeholder departments to resolve public grievances on priority, especially those related to basic amenities and developmental works. He also reviewed the progress of the projects being implemented under the District Capex Budget and other developmental schemes.
The Deputy Commissioner issued the directions while reviewing the action taken by the departments on issues raised during his recent public outreach programmes held across the Subdivisions Gool, Banihal, Ramsoo and other tehsils of the district.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Revenue Shokat Hayat Mattoo; Assistant Commissioner Development Sheraz Ahmed; Executive Engineers, AEEs and other officers from PWD, PMGSY, REW and allied departments.
Referring to the limited working season and approaching winters, the DC instructed departments, particularly the Rural Engineering Wing (REW) and PWD R&B, to expedite allotment and initiation of allotted works to ensure their timely completion. He emphasized strict adherence to quality standards particularly in roads and other infrastructure projects.
The DC further directed REW to ensure early retendering of remaining works and start of allotted works. He also reviewed the status of developmental projects of Urban Local Bodies, Youth Services & Sports, Education and Revenue departments.
Underscoring the importance of effective utilization of funds, the Deputy Commissioner directed the executing agencies to achieve their financial and physical targets within the stipulated time frame.
Providing feedback, the officers highlighted the bottlenecks impeding progress on certain projects. The DC addressed most of these issues on the spot by issuing necessary directions to the concerned officers for immediate redressal, ensuring smooth implementation of developmental initiatives across the district.
