Orders restriction on gathering of people

RAMBAN: Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam Wednesday held a meeting to review the status of vaccinations and sampling in the district amidst possible second Covid wave in some parts of the country and J&K UT.

Chief Medical officer, Dr. Mohammad Farid Bhat, Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Mohammad Iqbal Bhat and Medical Superintendent, District Hospital, Ramban, Dr. Hamid Zargar attended the meeting.

The CMO briefed the meeting that as many as 676 samples, including 266 RT-PCR samples against the set target of 200 for district Ramban, were collected today.

Similarly, under the vaccination drive for age-appropriate and other categories, as many as 799 persons were administered first and second doses yesterday. 

The Deputy Commissioner was informed that as many as 21 Covid + cases are active in the district, who are in home isolation and under constant supervision of the Health Department. Active contact tracing, tracking and testing is also being adhered to in order to prevent spread of the Covid infection.

The meeting discussed in detail the steps to be taken to prevent spread of infection. The meeting decided to restrict the gathering of people at public places, marriage functions, hotels, restaurants and schools, especially during morning prayers.

The meeting also decided to rope in the religious organizations to control gathering of people for congregational prayers and adhering to Covid protocols like wearing of face mask, washing hands and maintaining physical distance.  

The District Administration shall continue its vigorous face mask wearing drives across the district which has been started under aggressive Covid control measures.
