RAJOURI: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma today chaired a meeting to review the implementation of Flagship Schemes in the district.
The Deputy Commissioner took a detailed appraisal of performance of departments and progress of government schemes across Health, Social Welfare, Financial Inclusion, Urban Development, Housing and other civic programs.
Taking stock of PMAY-Urban, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed applications received, processed, and houses sanctioned. He directed for timely release of installments, physical verification of progress and an updated status of Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) in municipalities, calling for strict adherence to set timelines.
He directed the District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO) to expedite expenditure under approved schemes so that timely benefits reach the target groups.
Stressing on universal health coverage, he instructed the Health Department to accelerate the generation of ABHA IDs for citizens.
Reviewing the status of Block Public Health Units, the DC assessed their functional status, manpower availability and infrastructure requirements. He also laid emphasis on accelerating financial expenditure and project execution under AMRUT.
On financial inclusion under Jan Dhan Yojana, the DC instructed the concerned departments to intensify efforts to achieve 100 percent saturation. Similarly, he reviewed the progress of housing units sanctioned under PMAY-Rural and stressed the need for their early completion.
The Deputy Commissioner impressed upon all officers to remove bottlenecks and ensure efficient service delivery, adding that timely implementation of schemes is crucial for achieving developmental goals and strengthening grassroots governance.
The meeting was attended by CPO Rajouri, Maqsood Ahmed, ACR, Mohd Jahangir Khan, while all district and sectoral officers participated virtually.
