DC Rajouri reviews formulation of Capex budget, Village Action Plans

RAJOURI: To strengthen grassroots planning and ensure inclusive development, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, today chaired a meeting to review the formulation of the Capex Budget for the District.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of conducting Gram Sabhas in true spirit, underscoring their vital role in participatory planning. He directed the authorities to circulate the schedule of Gram Sabhas well in advance, ensuring transparency and maximum public participation.

The DC also reviewed the ongoing gap analysis for the formulation of Village Action Plans under the Vibrant Villages Programme(VVP) that focuses on the development of border areas. He stressed the need to align VVP plans with thematic areas including connectivity enhancement, promotion of eco-tourism and overall infrastructure improvement.

The meeting also decided to formulate innovative plans for underground community structures such as gyms, libraries and other utility-based facilities to optimize land usage in geographically constrained areas.

The meeting was attended by GM DIC Fareed Kohli; ACP Sheraz Chouhan; Chief Planning Officer Maqsood Ahmed; ACD Auqil Naveed; Deputy Director Employment Mohammad Nawaz and other district and sectoral officers.
