Ensure saturation of key social security schemes on priority: Dr Qayoom
PULWAMA: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Dr. Basharat Qayoom chaired a comprehensive review meeting here today on financial inclusion cum social security schemes.
The review focused on evaluating the implementation and bank-wise progress of key social security schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), Atal Pension Yojana (APY) and Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY).
At the outset, Lead District Manager (LDM), Pulwama presented a detailed PowerPoint highlighting the progress of branches of various banks across these schemes against the allocated targets.
During the meeting, DC held a comprehensive branch-wise review of all banks across these schemes. He sought a detailed action plan from the Zonal Heads and Branch Heads to achieve saturation and complete all pending targets within stipulated timelines.
Dr. Qayoom further emphasized the importance of timely saturation of all eligible beneficiaries under the said schemes and called for enhanced coordination between banks, line departments, and field-level functionaries.
DC directed the concerned officers to ensure awareness, enrolment, and coverage of all left-out eligible individuals.
“Ensure proactive outreach, accurate beneficiary identification, and regular follow-ups to achieve time-bound saturation under these schemes. Mobilise field functionaries and maintain close inter-departmental coordination to deliver results on the ground,” DC directed.
He particularly emphasised the Branch Heads to facilitate the registration of MGNREGA job card holders, labour card holders, and Self-Help Group (SHG) members under these schemes, in coordination with line departments such as the Rural Development Department, Labour and Employment Department, and the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM).
Among others, the meeting was attended by the Assistant Commissioner Development Pulwama, Assistant Labour Commissioner Pulwama, District Coordinator NRLM Pulwama, Lead District Manager Pulwama, and Zonal and Branch Heads of various banks operating in the district.
