DC Poonch reviews disaster preparedness of SDRF, line departments

Emphasizes equipment readiness, inter-departmental coordination

POONCH: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Ashok Kumar Sharma today chaired a comprehensive review meeting to assess the preparedness of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and other stakeholder departments to effectively handle any emergency situation.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the level of preparedness of all concerned departments. He stressed the need for proper mapping, operationalization and regular maintenance of all disaster-related equipment and resources, ensuring their readiness for immediate deployment during emergencies.

He further instructed all concerned officers to compile detailed information related to their departmental resources and submit the same to the DC Office for comprehensive disaster preparedness planning.

The meeting was attended by ADC Tahir Mustafa Malik, ASP Mohan, ACR Mohd Sayeed, SDMs, Executive Engineers of PWD (R&B), Jal Shakti, JPDCL, Irrigation & Flood Control, CMO, Chief Education Officer, CAHO, DSHO, Tehsildars of Haveli, Mandi, Surankote, Mendhar, Mankote and Balakote, Account Officer DC Office, In-charge Fire & Emergency Services, besides other concerned officers.
