DC listens public grievances at Kulgam

KULGAM: To take firsthand appraisal of issues, grievances of people for immediate redressal, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat today presided over a grievance redressal camp at Kulgam with strict adherence to Covid-19 SOPs.

People from Kund, Adapora, Kachloo, Liroo and other areas attended the grievance redressal camp and flagged-off their issues and grievances.

The DC after giving patient hearing to people redressed some of the grievances on the spot and assured that all the genuine demands shall be met at an earliest.

Dr Bilal on the occasion urged people to stick to preventive measures especially use of face masks and adopting social distancing besides to propagate this message to other people.

He stressed on the need of complete synergy in combating the impending threat of the Omicron variant, which is highly transmissible. He said Covid Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) enforcement is a solution to combat the aggressive transmission of the omicron variant.

The DC cautioned against lenient behavior of people in observing covid protocol, saying the district administration will act very tough against the violators even as he appealed all the stakeholders to extend co-operation to administration in the enforcement of CAB.

Dr Bilal observed that health is the priority of every individual and it is imperative to work in complete coordination to defeat the 3rd covid wave.   

He also asked the traders and transporters to disallow unmasked people in their business establishments and public vehicles, adding the concerned trader and driver will be personally held responsible for such lapses.

He urged religious heads to use their influence to motivate people to adopt CAB.

Grievances redressal camps were also held at Block Devsar and D.H.Pora.

Moreover, the District Administration has also intensified mass awareness campaigns, vaccination and testing across the district.

Vehicles mounted with audio systems and banners are deployed for sensitizing people in markets, hospitals, villages and towns to adhere to COVID-19 SOPs and to adopt CAB.
