DC Kupwara reviews progress of Health indicators

KUPWARA: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir today directed officers of the Health department to ensure coordination with the officers of block and village level committees meant for monitoring of health activities in the district. 

The DC was addressing a meeting of Health officers including Deputy CMO to review the progress of different indicators of health and nutrition in various health facilities in the district. 

The meeting reviewed threadbare various issues pertaining to achievement of targets with regard to health and nutrition. 

The DC received present status of health indicators from all officers. He directed officers to work with added dedication and achieve cent percent targets.

He also asked concern to update the data on RCH portal timely and regularly regarding pregnant ladies, besides, asked them to ensure Village, Health, Sanitation and Nutrition Day (VHSND) on every Thursday in all 2300 Anganwadi Centres. He also stressed for home based visits of ASHAs to trace out ANC patients in early stages. 

Regarding deliveries, the DC stressed upon the officers to ensure 100 percent institutional delivery, besides, utilizing the services of nurses in local Health Centres for normal deliveries of the pregnant ladies. He directed them to take care of sanitation and cleanliness in and around the Health & Wellness Centres. 

Regarding newly constructed Health & Wellness Centres, the DC directed the concerned BMOs to take over the charge of the buildings. 

Among others, JD Planning, BMOs, AD Planning attended the meeting.
