KUPWARA: A review meeting on Mission YUVA was today convened at the DC Office Complex, Kupwara, under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Shrikant Suse.
During the meeting, Incharge of YUVA Helpdesk Kupwara, delivered a detailed presentation highlighting the objectives, progress, and challenges under Mission YUVA in the district.
DC, while reviewing the progress, issued strict directions to all concerned departments to achieve the set targets within the stipulated timeframe. He emphasized that YUVA DOOTs with lower performance must intensify their efforts to meet the expectations of the mission.
Further, DC instructed that Self-Business Development Unit (SBDU) officials must strictly adhere to proper procedures and transparent dispensation while processing applications under the scheme, ensuring benefits reach deserving youth promptly.
District Kupwara has emerged as the leading recipient of online applications among all districts in Jammu and Kashmir under Mission YUVA, with a total of 3702 applications received. Of these 915 cases have been approved by the District Level Implementation Committee (DLIC). 177 applications have been sanctioned by banks. 85 cases have resulted in disbursement of funds by banks.
An additional 300 applications are poised for approval in the upcoming DLIC meeting scheduled for August 18, 2025.
Mission YUVA is a flagship initiative aimed at empowering and facilitating youth towards self-employment and entrepreneurial ventures, thereby enhancing livelihood opportunities across the district.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Kupwara, Mufti Mohammad Fareed Ud Din; General Manager DIC, Sameer Jaan; Lead District Manager (LDM) Kupwara; nominated YUVA DOOTs; and officials from the Employment department, District Industries Centre Kupwara, and the ADDC office.
