DC Kulgam visits Malvan, Holds grievance redressal camp

KULGAM: Taking governance at the door steps of people and  to get first hand appraisal of grievances, issues and demands of people living in far-off areas, the Deputy Commissioner, (DC) Kulgam, Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat today visited far- flung areas in Kulgam and also held a grievance redressal camp at a hilly hamlet Malvan here.

During the grievance redressal camp, locals and the PRI members called upon the DC and raised various demands and issues for disposal.

People demanded construction of Gujjar Basti Malvan and other roads, augmentation of power network, posting of Principal to HSS Malvan, protection bund at Nallah, construction of building for NTPHC, early completion of water supply schemes etc.

The DC gave a patient hearing to demands raised by people and directed concerned officers to ensure prompt and speedy redressal of the issues.

Officers present on the spot also responded to various queries and issues raised by the people and various other issues were also redressed on the spot.

The DC also directed the concerned to identify land for Hospital and remove encroachment near playfield. He also directed RDD to take up the work of protection bund at Nalla Malvan.

Executive Engineer I&FC was directed to ensure equal distribution of water to all areas including Malvan through Banimulla irrigation canal.

The DC also instructed Industries, KVIB, employment and allied departments to organize awareness camps in the area to sensitize the youth about various employment generation schemes so they can avail benefit of these schemes for self-employment.

He also urged people to adopt COVID Appropriate behavior to contain the spread of Covid-19 infection.

During the visit, the DC was accompanied by ACD, ACR, CMO, CEO, DFO, Executive Engineers from Jal Shakti, I&FC and other officers.
