DC Kulgam reviews progress of I&C Department Schemes

KULGAM: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan, today chaired a review meeting to assess the progress of various schemes being implemented by the Industries and Commerce (I&C) Department in the district.

During the meeting, the DC reviewed the performance of schemes being executed through the District Industries Centre (DIC), Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB), Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), Handloom, and Handicrafts Departments.

General Manager, DIC Kulgam, presented a comprehensive report highlighting the achievements of all departments since the inception of their respective schemes.

 He informed that a total of 27,172 industrial units have been established in the district so far, involving an investment of Rs, 356.69 crore and generating employment opportunities for 35,626 persons.

Emphasizing the need for regular monitoring, the Deputy Commissioner directed the General Manager, DIC Kulgam, to submit updated progress reports of all schemes every Monday to ensure effective implementation and timely outcomes.
