Instructs for rigorous training of resource persons for IEC Campaign Phase-II
KULGAM: A meeting of the District-Level Narco Coordination Centre (NCORD) Committee was today held at the Mini Secretariat, Kulgam, under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan to review measures for curbing drug abuse and strengthening enforcement mechanisms in the district.
During the meeting, the DC reviewed the district’s progress on anti-drug measures and law-enforcement action.
The Deputy Commissioner directed all line departments to ensure that no poppy cultivation is allowed anywhere in the district and emphasized the early destruction of wild bung before it reaches the seeding stage.
He further called for rigorous training of resource persons for IEC Campaign Phase-II, enhanced vigil on pharmacies, and regular monitoring of CCTV feeds.
The DC also stressed the need to bring all drug-prone hotspots under CCTV surveillance to strengthen deterrence and support enforcement efforts.
The meeting concluded with a firm resolve to intensify coordinated action to make Kulgam a drug-free district.
The meeting was attended by ASP Kulgam, ACR, Tehsildars and other officers.
