DDC Kishtwar reviews progress of B2V works

KISHTWAR: The District Development Commissioner Kishtwar, Ashok Sharma today chaired a meeting of concerned officers to review the pace of progress of the works/developmental activities taken up under B2V programme in the district.

Additional District Development Commissioner, Sham Lal; Assistant Commissioner Development Kishore Singh Katoch; Assistant commissioner Panchayat, Zakir Hussain Wani; besides Xen REW and BDOs attended the meeting.

The meeting was informed that a total of 152 works costing Rs 6.22 crore were identified in 136 panchayats of district under the Back to village phase 1 and most of them have been completed and while the rest are at different stages of completion.

Besides, he was informed that under the B2V phase 3 a total of  477 works were identified  and majority of works  have been tendered, while the tendering of the rest was underway.

The DDC directed ACD to pace up the tendering process and ensure the tendering of all the identified works by June 15, 2021.

He asked the concerned to sort out the encumbrances and ensure the works are allotted only to the registered vendors /contractors in each Panchayat.

The BDOs were asked to complete the work of issuing the contractor cards on Panchayats basis immediately to remove hiccups in allotting sanctioned works.

Meanwhile, the DC directed ACD to ensure that the Budget plan proposed by sarpanchs and panchs  is displayed in each Panchayat and also   those projected by BDBs and DDCs are widely circulated  at block level for bringing transparency and accountability.

Reiterating the instructions given by Commissioner Secretary, he impressed upon the Tehsildars and BDOs to be accountable for COVID 19  activities in tbe blocks. He directed ACD to rope in the  BDOs and other officials down the line  in the process of functioning of 5 bedded COVID care centres at each Panchayat.
